We Make it a Point to Know You
While our staff members are preparing/checking your records, you can relax and enjoy the ambiance of our clinic. Our staff members are always ready to make every patient feel welcome and relaxed. We offer personalized approach as every patient has different needs, with some even having dental phobia. We make it a point to know our patients’ history so proper care is accorded to them.
Based on the patient’s age and dental history, we recommend different ways to make their experience at our clinic as comfortable as possible. Since part of our specialization is sedation dentistry, we have the latest technology and knowledge on:
- IV (Intravenous) Sedation (also known as twilight sleep or twilight sedation) is administered through the vein to make the patient feel relaxed during the procedure. The patient is still responsive throughout the dental treatment but wouldn’t feel the pain. This type of sedation will put the patient into deep relaxation state which removes any possibility of anxiety attack while the dental procedure is being done. This is a popular choice for major dental work because of its immediate and reliable effect. During the whole procedure, a sleep dentist will monitor your pulse and oxygen levels.
- Oral Sedation is usually used for minor dental procedures. When a patient chooses oral sedation, a small pill will need to be taken before the dental procedure. The patient will feel relaxed and calm throughout the treatment. As a precaution, the patient is advised not to drive a motor vehicle after 24 hours of taking the pill.
- Nitrous Oxide (also known as inhalation sedation or laughing gas) is administered by letting a patient inhale a colorless gas (N2O) for a few minutes to induce a relaxing feeling and giggling (hence the name laughing gas). The patient will be light-headed but there will be no hangover effect. The gas may be administered a few times until the desired effect is reached. This type of sedation works fast. This is often the choice for those who have needle phobia.
