Time to Visit Midtown Dentistry
Your First Dental Visit to Midtown Dentistry in Houston
Your first dental visit with Houston dentists at Midtown Dentistry promises to be a pleasant experience. On your first visit you will be asked to fill a patient questionnaire. Click to download it.
What to expect at my first visit?
As you enter our office, you will be greeted by one of our friendly team members who will be expecting your visit.
We will then have you complete some simple paperwork (or you can complete it online prior to your visit), including medical history and patient information forms.
Next, we will examine your teeth and discuss the options that are specific to your needs. Your initial appointment (non-emergency) will entail a Comprehensive Examination.
This gives us a full understanding of your current oral health so we can determine your best treatment options.
This examination may include a routine oral cancer screening, TMJ evaluation, soft tissue evaluation, as well as an examination of your teeth and gum.
We might also use a small digital intraoral camera to take some images of your teeth so that you can actually see and better understand your areas of concern when we discuss them with you.
Please allow 1.5 hours for the initial exam. For your convenience we can offer same day cleanings with your initial exam. If you choose this option, please allow 2 hours.
The Comprehensive Exam includes:
| • | Introduction to our office and staff |
| • | Review of your medical & dental history |
| • | Blood pressure & oral cancer screening |
| • | Radiographs (low-level, full-mouth, digital x-rays) |
| • | Orthodontic and bite evaluation |
| • | Periodontal evaluation |
| • | Diagnosis, treatment plan, estimated costs |
PLEASE NOTE: The Adult Comprehensive Exam does not include cleaning. The type, number, and frequency of hygiene visits vary widely from case to case. Your recommended cleaning or periodontal therapy will be done at a future appointment.
Finally, with all this information, the doctor will take his time to discuss with you the status of your oral health, necessary treatment and treatment options.
we will provide you with an estimate for the work that is needed and discuss financial options.
If your first visit is an emergency visit, instead of a comprehensive oral exam, the doctor will perform a problem-focused exam. He will then recommend or provide the necessary emergency treatment based on your need.
Making sound decisions about your dental care and oral health is an easy thing to do with the right preparation beforehand:
