Infection Control Infection is a possibility after every dental procedure both for the dental staff and patients. That is why at Midtown Dentistry, we follow the recommendations set by the American Dental Association, Center for Disease Control (CDC), Occupational Safety & Health Administration (OHSA) and various federal agencies regarding infection control
It is our commitment to provide not only modern services and providing utmost care but also a safe environment for everyone who sets foot in our clinic. As a basic precaution we practice:
- Using of masks, gloves, gowns and eye protection
- Disinfecting surfaces and counter tops of our clinic on a regular basis
- Sterilizing dental tools and equipment before and after use
- Using disposable materials as much possible
- Disposing one-time use materials properly and hygienically
Our personnel and staff members, on the other hand, are equipped with proper education, training and immunization to best handle infection control issues from prevention to post-exposure management, as recommended by CDC.
We make sure that all the equipment and tools used in our clinic are clean and sterilized to prevent and minimize the proliferation of bacteria and viruses that can cause diseases. We use heat, steam and pressure as needed to sanitize our instruments. We also encourage our patients and visitors to be aware of sanitary practices so they can ask pertinent questions regarding our safety standards.
Feel free to inquire about infection control measures so we can show you how we value our patients, visitors and health personnel.
