Many people have a few teeth missing and need a suitable way of replacing them. One of the most popular forms of doing so is through having a partial denture fitted.

The traditional metal acrylic denture is relatively inexpensive and effective. These partial dentures are made entirely out of hard acrylic, or they have a metal framework covered with acrylic.

It is also possible to choose partial dentures made out of a flexible nylon material called Valplast. So what exactly are the advantages of Valplast vs. partial metal dentures?

Why Choose Valplast over Partial Metal Dentures?

  1. Valplast dentures appear more natural as they are crafted from nylon resin that is designed to blend in with the patients’ natural gum color.
  2. Valplast dentures don’t require any metal clasps to hold them in place: Instead, they have gum-colored pins that are much less visible.
  3. Valplast dentures are thin and flexible, and much more comfortable to wear: and even better they are just about unbreakable.
  4. Valplast flexible design makes ones speaking sound more natural: The flexibility allows the denture to adapt to the shape of the mouth,
  5. The Valplast material used to create the gums has a lifetime warranty: The warranty is for fractures and breakages, as the manufacturers are so confident about this tried and tested equipment.
  6. Valplast resin is stain-resistant: It doesn’t contain any harsh chemicals commonly found in denture acrylics. The agent used to color the resin doesn’t contain any metals.
  7. Valplast has excellent aesthetic:  making this denture the right choice for many patients.

Valplast is Not for Every Patient

Valplast partial dentures sound like the perfect solution, but for patients that need full dentures or have extensive periodontal disease.

The Valplast extreme flexibility means they have a lack of rigidity needed for full dentures. The remaining teeth of patients with periodontal disease may need the extra support offered by rigid traditional dentures.

Our dentists will be able to advise you if Valplast dentures are suitable for your situation, and they will answer all your questions.
