Veneers HoustonDental Veneers Simplest and Easy Way to Enhance Your Smile

If there is one dental procedure that you can consider to improve your smile, ask your dentist about porcelain veneers. It is a simple and easy way to boost your confidence by way of whiter and perfect-looking teeth without breaking the budget.

Porcelain veneers, which are also called dental veneers or dental porcelain laminates, are popular because it can reshape, whiten or fix worn, chipped, misaligned, irregular, discolored and stained teeth.  With just a few visits to one of the dentist at Midtown Dentistry, porcelain veneers can enhance your smile like magic.

How Does it Work?

So how does it work? Porcelain veneers are made of very thin layers of shell-like material which are attached on the surface of visible teeth using dental cement or glue. It usually takes three visits to the dentist to complete the process. First visit is for consultation and evaluation. While two more visits are for preparation and bonding.

Preparation means part of the tooth enamel must be removed, usually about half millimeter to accommodate the veneer. During this step, you must have already discussed the look that you want, chosen the right shade of white and how long or short your new teeth will be. The dentist will make an impression of your teeth and then send it to the lab to create veneers in Houston.

Temporary veneers may be placed while waiting for the permanent porcelain veneers. It usually takes a week or two for the lab to finish veneers. Meantime, while temporary ones are in place, the patient can evaluate whether changes in length or shape must be done.

Even while your permanent veneers are ready for permanent cementing or bonding, your dentist still has to make adjustments to make them fit perfectly. When the right fit has been achieved, it will be bonded and cured. After that, the dentist will check the patient’s bite, make adjustments if needed and remove excess cement.

Easy to Care for

Veneers are easy to care for. They are stain resistant and can last for many years with proper care. Make sure that you have chosen the right shade so you can flash your smile any time and confidently so.
