Originally from Jerusalem, Dr. Penchas has a diverse educational background, having studied in London, Jerusalem, Boston, Louisiana, and Texas. He earned his D.M.D degree from Hebrew University, graduating in the top 10% of his class and receiving the Student Award for Excellence in Restorative Dentistry. His parents currently reside in Tel Aviv, Israel.
Among only 3,200 prosthodontists in the United States, Dr. Penchas completed his specialization in prosthodontics at Louisiana State University, focusing on artificial dental appliances. Concurrently, he earned a Master’s in Education from the University of New Orleans.
Dr. Penchas further honed his skills with a fellowship in dental oncology and maxillofacial prosthetics at M.D. Anderson Cancer Center in Houston. A prolific author, his first article was published in the Journal of Dentistry for Children during his senior year of dental school, and he continues to contribute to professional journals and speak at seminars for dentists, technicians, and the public.
From 1995 to 1996, Dr. Penchas served as a full-time clinical assistant professor of prosthodontics at the University of Texas. He was also a dental program examiner for the Western Regional Examining Board (WREB) from 2010 to 2012.
In his free time, Dr. Penchas enjoys spending time with his family, traveling, beekeeping, and scuba diving.
