Living with damaged or missing teeth can be more than just a cosmetic issue—it affects your daily life, from enjoying meals to feeling confident when you smile. At Midtown Dentistry, we’re here to help you reclaim that comfort with our porcelain crowns and bridges.
A dental crown is a ceramic cap cemented over a damaged tooth to protect it and improve its shape. Crowns are used when a tooth is cracked, decayed, or worn down, giving it a fresh start while blending in with your natural teeth.
At Midtown Dentistry, we offer two types of crowns: BruxZir® and E-Max. BruxZir® crowns are made of zirconia, the most durable material available for crowns. They're perfect for back teeth that need extra strength for chewing but aren’t suitable for front teeth since they come in limited shades.
For front teeth, we use E-Max crowns, crafted from lithium disilicate ceramic—a material known for its beautiful, translucent appearance that mimics the natural look of your teeth.
Porcelain bridges are used to replace one or more missing teeth, helping to fill the gap and restore the function of your bite. They consist of two crowns placed on the teeth next to the gap, with a false tooth (or teeth) in between.
Removable bridges are held in place by metal clasps and can be taken out for cleaning, while fixed bridges are permanently secured with dental cement.
During your visit, our dentists will first prepare the affected teeth by shaping them to fit the crown or bridge. Then, we use precise digital impressions to capture every detail of your teeth.
While you relax, our in-house milling machine gets to work, crafting your custom porcelain crown or bridge in just a few hours. Once ready, we’ll carefully check the fit, make any adjustments needed, and bond it securely in place.
While porcelain crowns and bridges are highly durable and designed to last many years, they are not considered permanent in the sense that they may need to be replaced eventually.
If damaged or missing teeth are holding you back, we’re here to help. Book an appointment at one of our Midtown Dentistry locations and let us guide you through the process of getting a custom porcelain crown or bridge.
